Low emission zone
Hannover is not just an environmentally aware exhibition city. On 1st January 2008, along with Berlin and Cologne, it adopted the policy of a low emission zone in the city with the aim of reducing fine particulate pollution.
The low emission zone covers large areas of the city all around the centre within the motorway ring road and is displayed by signs which warn of entering a low emission zone. Only vehicles with a fine particles emissions sticker are allowed into the zone or which fulfil the requirements for exemptions.
If you plan to travel to the HANNOVER MESSE with your electric vehicle you can charge your vehicle at one of our charging points during your visit. These are to be found at car park 4 (entrance Nord 1, access via the Nordallee, see map). So that as many visitors as possible may have the opportunity to charge their vehicles, the GfV (Gesellschaft für Verkehrsförderung mbH) gladly disconnects your vehicle from the supply as soon as it is charged up. For this, please complete the form "Declaration for disconnection" and hand it to an employee on site. Parking for electric vehicles costs Euro 20.00, i.e. Euro10.00 each for parking and charging.
